We recently spent a weekend in Chicago as part of a three week trip across the US. It was our first stop after a 9 hour flight from Zurich and our first taste of the US. When I told some of my friends we were planning to visit Chicago we were met with inquisitive looks and questions like “what on earth is there to do in Chicago”? Well I have to say we absolutely loved it, and two days really was not enough. Chicago is a city full of incredible architecture, world class museums, and a pretty awesome take on pizza. It really is a city worth exploring. If you are short on time like us, follow our guide on how to spend two days in Chicago. Continue Reading
On a recent trip abroad we had the opportunity to spend the day in Zurich, before boarding our flight back to the UK. I’m so glad we had this opportunity because Zurich is honestly one of the most beautiful cities we have ever visited. It is actually one of those places that makes you feel like you are walking around in a living fairytale. It is also a very small city which makes it perfect for a stopover. Here is our guide to spending one day in Zurich. Continue Reading
On a recent trip to the US we had the opportunity to fly with Virgin America. Living in the UK, we had heard a lot of negative news stories about US airlines. So we did feel slightly apprehensive. Would the flight be overbooked and would we be asked to leave the flight? Would we be dragged off the flight bleeding? You know those kinds of things. But flying with Virgin America was actually an amazing experience, and our fears certainly were not founded. From checkin to landing we experienced a caring attitude mixed in with a bit of fun from staff. Here is our review flying Virgin America.

Ireland is the ultimate road trip destination. It is a country full of so much history and natural beauty. And the best way to see all this beauty is to rent a car and just drive. We happen to think one of Ireland’s most beautiful drives is the Ring of Kerry. The Ring of Kerry is a 111 mile coastal road that goes around the Iveragh Peninsula in Ireland. Technically it is not a ring but a horseshoe shape although some people start their Ring of Kerry journey in Killarney and make it a full circle. It is beautiful because you get to see a really rugged and beautiful coastal Ireland. This is the Ireland that the guide books gush about.
If you are looking for day trip ideas from Dublin, then look no further than Glendalough. It literally means valley of the two lakes and is located in Ireland’s County Wicklow. It is just south of Dublin and combined with a drive through the Wicklow Mountains it is the perfect day trip to get away from the hustle and bustle of Dublin city life.
At the top of any Paris to do list is of course to see the Eiffel Tower. This 324 meter structure towers over Paris. Whether you are admiring the view from the top or you are walking around the city as it peeks out at you, you can’t help but feel that the Eiffel Tower is synonymous with Paris. Built in 1887, it was originally supposed to be temporary. Due to its popularity however, it survived its purpose as a temporary exhibit at the World’s Fair. Although if you ask a Parisian you will find the reviews to be mixed. Continue Reading
